General Code is proud to introduce a remarkable upgrade to our already highly valued E-Code service—eCode360™. General Code began the rollout of this new online platform in the Fall of 2008, and we’re excited to share some details of the highlights today! Providing greater access and ease of use for residents, internal staff and outside professional organizations, eCode360™ expands the current E-Code services. eCode360 offers your community greater self-service capabilities and helps everyone to be more informed about the ordinances governing your municipality.

Greater Flexibility For Greater Access To Your Code

After several months of customer surveys, feature reviews and programming development, General Code has introduced a significant improvement to our online Code service. With the addition of advanced features and the benefit of an upgraded, robust search function, users of eCode360 will discover faster, more direct navigation to the information you need, when you need it.

Highlighted features include:

• Enhanced Navigation - a complete re-work of the interface allowing easier, more intuitive use of the online Code retaining the familiar navigation tools users are accustomed to while adding enhanced options for exploring the Code such as drop down menus within each chapter that allow users to open an entire chapter or just portions of it.
• Expanded Search Capabilities - in addition to traditional keyword/phrase and Boolean searching, users can enter specific section numbers to go directly to a specific location within the Code.
• Location Referencing Tools - drilling down through the various levels of your Code, you can find your specific location by simply rolling the cursor over the subsection letter or number to see the full listing of the chapter number, article, section and subsection where you currently are within the Code for quick reference.
• Basic View - a less intensive graphic interface making access in the field possible from a handheld device. Basic View is available from anywhere within the Code and provides even easier copy/paste functionality. Viewable in a single pane and fully searchable, it also accommodates those who may be using older browsers that do not process a more graphic interface well.
• Electronic Index - hovering your cursor over index entries allows you to quickly scan section content to more easily locate your desired information.
• Email Links - shortcut links to chapters, articles and sections within a Code can be copied and pasted into an email for easy sharing of information with constituents and colleagues.
