| Laserfiche® User's Group,
Rochester, New York On June 18th, 2003, General Code's Laserfiche User's Group meeting (including users and prospective users from the Western New York region) was held in Rochester. A. Ross Kitt, 3rd, then General Code CEO, welcomed fourteen guests representing nine communities. Attendees began the day by sharing how they use Laserfiche in their communities, and by participating in an Open Forum session where users could ask questions and share solutions to every day document management challenges.
This User's Group saw a wide range of applications. The Village of Hamburg uses Laserfiche extensively to satisfy FOIL requests. The Town of Irondequoit currently has minutes, resolutions, contracts and marriage records in their Laserfiche system, and is working on integrating their cemetery documents with a GIS system. The Village of Geneseo converted their minutes to a Laserfiche Desktop system with SnapShot, and now adding minutes is much faster and easier. The Buffalo Sewer Authority purchased Laserfiche to replace a Canon File system, and now has access to minutes, safety/DEC correspondence, manager's records, general secretary's records and financial records. The Town of Reading currently uses Laserfiche for their minutes and will expand their system to include justice records and payroll records. The Town of Riga uses a Laserfiche viewer CD to access their minutes.
Between bites of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, many new Laserfiche products were demonstrated, including the Quick Fields module that automates document processing by using data on the image, the WebLink module, and General Code's Laserfiche/GIS integration with ESRI's ArcView. Many users saw the possibilities of tying Laserfiche records to maps that range from Public Works to Fire departments.
General Code was also pleased to present three Innovator Award certificates to clients who have put their Laserfiche systems to uniquely effective use.
