With just a quick click of a mouse, municipal officials in the Borough of Carlisle, Pennsylvania have instant access to a wealth of information.

After many years of digging through overstuffed file cabinets, the Borough was ready for a better way to store and access documents. After reviewing several options, the Borough chose to have General Code install a Laserfiche® electronic document management system. They have enjoyed complete success with the program since its very first day in use.

storing everything it can - Borough agendas, court orders and decrees, mortgage records, daily correspondence, resolutions, minutes, newspaper articles, and much more.

The Borough Secretary, supervisors and department heads are among the current users of the system. However, Chris expects more and more Borough employees to utilize Laserfiche as he continues to scan and enter final audits, property files, the Borough's comprehensive plan, and Zoning Hearing Board decisions into the system.

Chris emphasizes that "We get a lot of inquiries right off the street, and our Laserfiche system comes through in a pinch. Something that would have taken hours of research before now takes just minutes."

While Laserfiche was being installed, employees were being trained to use the program. Chris felt that this initial training, combined with excellent resolution of technical issues, has shown that General Code is dedicated to not only providing a quality product, but also to providing ongoing support. "We haven't had a lot of problems at all," Chris says. "It's been great!"
