Reason Nominated:

Ms. Conklin has introduced innovative projects, cost-saving measures, and new revenues. She managed the creation of a new licensing database that allows for greater oversight and increased cooperation among several City departments. Ms. Conklin also found grant monies to fund a review of City record storage in the event of a disaster, introduced the processing of passports, and contracted to place the City's Charter and Code on the Internet. Perhaps her most visible innovation has been the performing of marriage ceremonies. Almost 3000 couples have left City Hall smiling.
