Elizabeth (Bette) Mastropasqua has served on the Ocean County New Jersey Municipal Clerks' Association, working through the chairs to the office of President.

Bette has also served on various committees for the Municipal Clerks' Association of New Jersey (MCANJ). She has been the chair of a Spring Conference, has served on the Advisory Board, Legal Defense Fund, Constitution and By-Laws, and Legislative Committees. Bette has also organized and hosted sessions for Continuing Education Units for MCANJ members, which are necessary in order for the New Jersey Municipal Clerks to maintain their state certification. In addition to being the Chair of the Web Page/Information Technology Committee, she collects and prepares information for the People page in The Quill, the official quarterly publication of MCANJ.

Another one of Bette's achievements was being the recipient of the President's Award from the New Jersey State League of Municipalities for establishing a communication network between Municipal Clerks, Legislators, and the New Jersey State League of Municipalities.

Bette Mastropasqua was named the 2003 Municipal Clerk of the Year by the Municipal Clerks' Association of New Jersey in November, 2003. This honor is bestowed on only one member of MCANJ each year, who has made a positive contribution to the profession of the Municipal Clerk, for the benefit of every Municipal Clerk. This is the highest honor awarded by MCANJ members to one of their own.

Due to the many contributions Bette has made to both her County and State Associations, as well as the fact that she is the MCANJ's 2003 Municipal Clerk of the Year, she is the ideal person to be placed on the Municipal Clerks Honor Roll.
