John's fiscal oversight of the day-to-day Village expenditures was the primary reason we stayed within our budget this year, in spite of the soaring costs incurred, primarily caused by the steep rise in fuel costs. This effort resulted in an increased bond rating for the Village, which will allow us to make much needed critical improvements to our infrastructure with minimal tax increases.
