How can I make a nomination?

Nominations can be submitted using the official form from General Code on-line at www.generalcode.com/mchr, by fax at 1-585-328-8189 or by mail to 72 Hinchey Road, Rochester, NY 14624.

Who is eligible for nomination?

The Municipal Clerks Honor Roll is open to all Municipal Clerks and their deputies within the United States.

Who can submit a nomination?

Municipal Clerks, other municipal officials and citizens are all welcome to make nominations to the Honor Roll.

Can a Clerk nominate themselves?

No self-nominations will be accepted. The purpose of the Honor Roll is to provide a forum for fellow Clerks, municipal officials and citizens to recognize and honor the service and dedication of the Municipal Clerks who serve our communities.

Can an Association or League make a nomination?

Nominations are only accepted on behalf of an organization that is specifically representative of Municipal Clerks. Other organizations are invited to encourage their membership to make individual nominations.

What information must be submitted for each nomination?

An official form from General Code must be filled out on-line or in print and each nomination must include the name, municipality, official title and reason for nomination. Submissions must also include the name, title (if applicable), municipality and contact information of the person(s) submitting the nomination.

How do I get an official form from General Code?

An official form is available on-line at www.generalcode.com/mchr/mchr2001.html. A printable form is also available on-line. You can also request an official form be sent to you by calling General Code at 1-800-836-8834.

When will the 2007 Honor Roll be unveiled?

The Honor Roll is unveiled each year to coincide with Municipal Clerks Week as designated by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. In 2009, Municipal Clerks Week is May 3 - May 9 and the 2009 Municipal Clerks Honor Roll will be posted on-line beginning May 4, 2009.

How are the nominees notified of this honor?

Nominees are notified by letter or e-mail that their name has been submitted for inclusion on the Honor Roll.

Is there a certificate of recognition given to the nominee?

Yes. A certificate for each nominee is sent to the person who submitted the nomination so they may have the opportunity to present the certificate in a special ceremony or privately, as they so choose.

Are nominations limited?

Persons may submit multiple nominations to recognize more than one Clerk in a given Honor Roll year.

Can one Clerk receive more than one nomination?

Yes. Clerks can be nominated by more than one person for inclusion on the Honor Roll.
