Should municipal officials be mandated to provide certain information
over the Internet?

Ordinances
affect the community, are produced with taxpayer money therefore
they should be in the public domain - Henry K. Juelch |

Voting
records, ordinances and in the case of my municipality, just a website

I

All
government offices and /or policies and procedures need to be
available to those of us in the business community; so as we can
review information without having to give up time and energy used
better for making money used for tax reasons. I would rather be
able to focus on our business and the opportunity to better the
community than go to offices to research during business hours

The question
is too broad. There are MANY small communities in Wisconsin who
do not have a computer even at their Clerk's office. We are fortunate
not only to have computers, but internet and our own web site.
Mandating this kind of expense on an 'across the board' approach
would impose a financial as well as time consuming burden on these
smaller communities. Clerks are able to provide the reports people
need without everything being 'instantaneous' - Pat Dotseth |

Who will
pay for it? - Ginger |

Not unless
the state funds 100% of the cost. We don't need anymore unfunded
mandates! - Robert G. Logan, Waltham City Council, MMA Board of
Directors |
