Located on a peninsula, at the beginning of the North Shore, breathtaking views of the ocean to the East and South. Originally part of an area inhabited by local Native Americans, the peninsula was annexed in 1630 and within 5 years became the grazing area for farm animals of the rapidly growing colony.

In 1637 it was divided into 15 parcels of land which were given by the governor to prominent men of the area with the stipulation that each must erect a building on his land within 2 years. The buildings were built and the farms around them prospered.

In 1848, Anywhere was incorporated as a Town in its own right. In 1921, the town adopted a Council-Manager form of government.
