Account Manager

Meet General Code: Zachary S. Dumont

Zachary first stepped into the New England Account Manager role in April of 2022. He had recently finished a term on his local Town Council where he was twice elected to serve an historic community of just over 9,000 residents in the heart of New Hampshire’s seacoast.

He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and he had a mission to ensure that local government remains accessible and accountable to its constituents. In his three years with General Code, Zachary has fostered new relationships across New England, primarily meeting with folks face-to-face to make the case for codification and implementing responsible code management practices.

He has successfully seen more than a dozen local code projects to completion and helped launch several interactive zoning map projects in the region. Zachary also played a role in expanding General Code’s relationships with local municipal associations such as the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments, the MTCMA, MBOIA, and ESBOF. In recent months, he has become a member of the ICC Community Development team, to help promote the launch of the ICC-CD’s NextGen Municity platform.

In his own words, “I was hesitant to step into a predominantly sales-focused role. However, General Code allows me to be an advocate and a supporting member to our client communities. I get to develop my own unique relationships with the three hundred municipalities I report to and ensure their needs are met. I hope that when my career ends with General Code – many years from now – I’ll leave behind a simple but impactful legacy.”

Zachary resides in Rochester, NH, with his loving wife — for whom he is incredibly grateful — and their small family. They enjoy antiquing, visiting New England’s historic sites, and traveling the globe.
