Making Happier Cities

This TEDxVancouver video details the “Happy City Experiment” as coordinated by award-winning writer and urbanist Charles Montgomery. The experiment explored what would happen if an abandoned city space in New York City was used for a social event to allow city dwellers to take part in urban social activities. The activities brought about many unexpected results, especially in how attendees interacted with one another, how they reacted to the altered space and how their attitudes changed regarding social connections, values and each other.
